Cryptocurrency exchange Bybit, which fell victim to a hack, has issued a "war declaration" against Lazarus and introduced a new website to monitor the group's wallet addresses. The exchange aims to enlist the public's help in the investigation and is offering a 5% reward for any leads that result in frozen funds.
Bybit's CEO, Ben Zhou, announced the "war" in a social media post where he revealed the launch of the first "bounty site" that provides complete transparency on Lazarus's money laundering activities, which are subject to sanctions.
Zhou stated that users can link their wallets to the newly created website to assist in tracing the stolen funds. Once a submission results in the freezing of funds, a "bounty is paid immediately," as soon as the assets are frozen.
Zhou continued, "We have allocated a team to maintain and update this website, and we will not stop until Lazarus or other bad actors in the industry are removed. In the future, we will also invite other Lazarus victims to join."

At present, the website is tracking 6,338 addresses associated with the Lazarus group, and around $42.3 million, accounting for more than 3% of the stolen assets, have been frozen.
Last Friday, the nearly $1.5 billion hack of crypto exchange Bybit sent shockwaves through the crypto market, causing most digital asset prices to plummet. It was later reported that North Korea's Lazarus Group was responsible for the attack, which was described as "the largest crypto theft of all time, by a significant margin."
